Yesterday morning Mrs A was sitting by her computer watching the imminent return of the space shuttle to Florida on NASA TV online. She is an avid follower of such things and rarely misses a launch or reentry. So as we are watching the shuttle circle the earth and begin it's decent, Tessa appears and heads in to take a shower. The shuttle is not quite over Honduras. The space shuttle then travels from Honduras to Florida, descends from orbit, executes a complex series of circling maneuvers to shed excess speed, lands and stops. Just then, Tessa steps out of the bathroom.
Sue makes the observation that in time it takes Tess to take a shower, the shuttle made it from central America all the way to Florida. And they were riding the brakes all the way home.
