Greek Easter photoblog, etc...
Just thumbing through a few recent pictures and thought I would post a few for the vast Fetafilter audience. Last Sunday was the day the Greeks celebrate Easter, so as is our tradition, Mrs. A cooked some tasty lamb and other stuff and we generally enjoyed the time at home. For those who don't know, another thing that happens during the Greek observance of Easter is that one dyes Easter eggs, always a deep, solid, red to represent the blood of Christ. True to form, we had a bowl of such red eggs. Chaz could not help but demo his egg-spinning skilz. After the meal, the tradition is that everyone chooses an egg, and then proceeds to go around the room knocking their egg against everyone else's. The person with the remaining unbroken egg "wins" and is said to be the recipient of all manner of good luck. This year, Markie took that honor, his egg placed in the winners throne. A great time was had by all.

Amongst the photos that I found on my camera, there were a bunch that I had not taken. Apparently there was some sort of "fun with hats" activity going on. It included a few shots of Raymond. There is no denying how incredibly smooth this kid is, even when he's down in da hood. Teddy, on the other hand, is still young enough to be unwittingly subject to abuse at the hands of his older sister.

At first, I was not sure exactly what was going on here in these pictures, but I'm quite sure that such activity is not "Mom Approved." (note stuffed dinosaur, Phil, being launched vertically into the air.)

This has nothing to do with anything, but this picture belongs in a photo contest someplace.

Hmmmm.....
Tess and I just returned from a run to Walmart a short while ago. Great fun. We managed to get everything that was on our shopping list. The list was as follows:

- Ten 18 Gallon capacity plastic storage bins
- One square yard of red fleece fabric
- Two packages of curved upholstery sewing needles
- One large bag of fluff (white synthetic, toy animal stuffing type)
- Shotgun shells (12 gauge, #8 shot, 100 round economy pack)
- One roll of dental floss (waxed, no flavor, 55 yards)

Draw your own conclusions.

Security threat!!!!
Well, the other day on Drudge Report, there was a link to a news story about the NY Police SCUBA team. They were assigned to provide security for the pope while he was visiting NY city, when they intercepted a potential threat. Lucky for the pope, they spotted, chased down and apprehended a beaver swimming in the East river, near the UN were the pope was giving a speech. This is all pretty suspicious. It is possible that the beaver may be linked to terrorist groups trying to attack the pope. Firstly beavers are fresh water animals, this was a salt water environment. Second, this beaver was observed to be armed with sharp claws, big pointy teeth, and have a curious flat leathery object trailing behind him in the water, that officials fear may be a bomb. Major news outlets reported that the beaver was taken to an "animal hospital." However sources that requested anonymity indicated that he was taken to a secret CIA facility for interrogation, though the beaver was refusing to talk. Our sources indicated that even the much feared "waterboarding" technique seemed to have no effect. "We just don't understand it", the source said, "this must be one tough beaver!"

WARNING GRAPHIC PHOTO CONTENT!!!!!
I like my kids. Nothing unusual there, most parents like their kids. But I really like my kids alot. Not just because I happen to be their father, and not because they do stuff for me, though that is handy. I really like them because it is obvious that they are just such unusually cool kids. Below, if you dare, you can find un-retouched photographic evidence that my...

..kids
............are
....................way
...............................cooler
.............................................than
........................................................yours.

Late edit:
A few people have questioned the completeness of the above claim, on the basis of the fact that my scientifically sound sample of 33.3333% is incomplete. So rather that debate the method, following is a bit more photographic evidence covering the balance of my kids:

Look....
...............and
........................be awestruck!

And if you are wondering about Ray, the one who went elsewhere during the beaver processing, well he embodies a sort of cool entirely his own. There is simply nothing that can compare. Check him out here modeling his

Say "Happy Anniversary!"...
Yes folks, it was 24 years ago today that Sue officially became "Mrs. A".
Hard to believe. I'm still not convinced that I have been alive long enough to have been doing any one thing for 24 years. Particularly in light of the fact that my wife is always telling me to grow up. Anyhow, somehow I thought this song was appropriate for the occasion:

SONG!

Love you, Sue.
Always my favorite.

Deus ex machina...
Yes folks, it is alive. It is the MARG9000, the latest and greatest in a line of computers hand crafted by skilled artisans from across the globe for the world famous Marg. Sporting 2 Gb of highspeed RAM, a full TerraByte of 7800RPM E-SATA hard drive space, NVIDIA chipset graphics, and a 2.3 GHz AMD Athalon dual core processor that is so hot, it requires it's own fan assisted liquid phase-change cooling tower. This is the computer that NASA would buy, if only they could afford one.

Look out web.
