Every day's a party! (Now with Pictures!)
We had twelve visitors throughout this past Labor Day weekend; cousins, friends, teens from church, and a jet-setter "cowboy" from the South. The house was a hub of those coming and going, eating and sleeping. There was a constant hum of noise from 8am till 1am. One came bringing his own computer and hooked up onto our network to game. Another came to borrow nail polish remover and then proceded to do her toenails in my livingroom (no names shall be mentioned ok Sar)? There were two who came as they passed through town on their way to Nebraska and then Alaska and Arizona.
An activity which amused the masses this weekend was rolling down our street in a broken office chair. The basketball game which erupted in my dining room was quickly squelched. Another activity was watching horror movies till the wee hours of the morning. Needless to say ,Chaz did not dare to shower the night of the movies. He was too terrified to go downstairs by himself. The crowds also seemed to commute back and forth to Wendy's restaurant quite often, possibly because the food at home was substandard.
When church was out on Sunday night, the teen-college crowd migrated here. The party began when Andrew uncaged his rubber turkey decoy. I could hear hymns sung, accompanied by the guitar and violin. Laughter reigned. This is what a parent gets joy from...kids having good clean fun under their own rooftop.
