So this morning I was called up to our facility a few towns over to help with some issues they were having there. It was early, and I was there for a number of hours. When lunchtime rolled around my food was back in Westford at my office. So I joined a coworker of mine who was going to get something from the coffee truck lady. Now I have not bought food off of any of the coffee trucks that stop by for maybe four years and was really not planning to today. But when I got out there I found a egg and cheese with bacon on a croissant calling out to me. So I shelled out the cash and my coworked friend and I head back to the office and sit down with our food. He has a large cup of some sort of veggie soup. He starts talking food, a topic he has been big on lately. He is currently really into juicing stuff, micro-greens, home cultured kefir (google it), raw milk, and a host of other such things. He is VERY enthusiastic about all of this. He goes on at some length about how energetic his new diet is making him feel, and so on. I listen, interjecting a tidbit here and there between bites of my fat laden egg, cheese, and bacon croissant which I am finding very tasty and satisfying. At one point he concludes his story by saying emphatically; "Well, after all, it's really true, we ARE what we eat!" Staring intently at my sandwich, I reply with the most sincere tone of mild insult/concern that I can muster (not really being much of an actor) "Ummm, do you really mean to say that I mostly egg, cheese, and bacon on a croissant for much of today?!?" He sounds just a bit off, and comes back with "...Um, well, really, that stuff.....is not all that bad, really,.... I mean, eggs and cheese is all good stuff if not over done, and even a bit of bacon...." Of course by now I am laughing, and he picks up on the joke and starts laughing along.
It's always fun messing with him. He's a good guy and sometimes gets a bit intense about stuff that catches his interest. It makes him an easy mark sometimes.
