since we're on the subject...
|
I go to the state fair expecting a good fun family time. Well. Okay. I expected rain, walking around for 8 hours, and outrageously priced soda. But it's almost the same thing. ANyways. I managed to smuggle my camera in (Security: "Uh, sir, we'll have to see what's in the camera bag." Mark: "*ziiiip* Oh-my-gawsh! It's a camera!!" Security: "That is what I had hoped, sir."), and was able to (stealthily) capture some shots of the terrible atrocities being committed against our fellow countrymen inside the hallowed rotten graffiti covered walls of the VA State Fair Grounds...
(Warning, some of the following may be disturbing, view at your own discretion. Heh.)
Right in my own back yard, innocents are being murdered and cannibalized. Some are even being smoked. Just the thought of the poor guys dragging themselves through the foot print covered mud of the fair grounds by their wings... With big fat Bubba at the concession stand chomping on what were once his legs... I guess they'll just keep skwaypin alawng...maybe one day one of the helpless no legged turkeys will be a cwahdah back and throw for 2,000 yahds...*sniff*...
When will the senseless violence ever cease?

If you thought I was kidding....

Lest anyone accuse me of exaggerating the strong reaction one might provoke from Drew, should one in some way threaten Turkey, I submit the following photo entitled:
"You did WHAT to Turkey!?"
Need I say more?

The Search
|
Well, I'm down to my last two burners on my kitchen stove. The sad thing is that they are the small burners. Try to boil a stock pot with enough water to cook three pounds of pasta on a small electric burner and you'll see my dilemma.
The oven has not worked in a year.
I have two nephews staying with me this week.
That brings the household total to ten. Oh ya, Sven is also here tonight, so is Sar, oh, and also Mr A's friend Doug. We'll have to order pizza.
The search is on for another stove...........

I saw this and immediately thought of Drewey. And Sven probably. But I'm pretty sure I thought of Sven because I thought of 'Drew. So. You know. Vahtehhvur. Heh heh.

Every day's a party! (Now with Pictures!)
|
We had twelve visitors throughout this past Labor Day weekend; cousins, friends, teens from church, and a jet-setter "cowboy" from the South. The house was a hub of those coming and going, eating and sleeping. There was a constant hum of noise from 8am till 1am. One came bringing his own computer and hooked up onto our network to game. Another came to borrow nail polish remover and then proceded to do her toenails in my livingroom (no names shall be mentioned ok Sar)? There were two who came as they passed through town on their way to Nebraska and then Alaska and Arizona. An activity which amused the masses this weekend was rolling down our street in a broken office chair. The basketball game which erupted in my dining room was quickly squelched. Another activity was watching horror movies till the wee hours of the morning. Needless to say ,Chaz did not dare to shower the night of the movies. He was too terrified to go downstairs by himself. The crowds also seemed to commute back and forth to Wendy's restaurant quite often, possibly because the food at home was substandard. When church was out on Sunday night, the teen-college crowd migrated here. The party began when Andrew uncaged his rubber turkey decoy. I could hear hymns sung, accompanied by the guitar and violin. Laughter reigned. This is what a parent gets joy from...kids having good clean fun under their own rooftop.

Let's just pray that the Lord will turn the hurricane out to sea.
